Hands-on orientation

From science to practice

Tourism/Travel Management

Excellent guest lectures

Experienced practitioners and renowned scientists provide students during guest lectures with valuable insights and impulses to supplement the regular lectures.

Corporate and cooperation partner network

Our numerous business and cooperation partners (here e.g. in Aviation Management) offer students the opportunity to complete exciting internships and make contacts in the field early. Whether you want to write your final thesis, launch a career or do an internship in Germany and abroad - the cooperation possibilties are endless.

Advisory Board

The Advisory Board of the department is comprised of more than 40 distinguished persons in the tourism and transport management sector, all representing renowned companies and organizations of this sector. The Advisory Board advises the Office of the Dean and study programme directors about fundamental questions regarding the department's strategic and structural development and, in particular, continuously reviews and optimizes its teaching and research study programmes.

Theory-practice transfer

The course of study also promotes social skills in the form of group projects, management and negotiation skills, IT and media skills. We stand for close and multi-layered interaction and networking with real-world tourism practice.

In addition, the entire value chain of tourism is covered by the following six areas of specialization (Special Business Administration Studies SBWL- of tourism and transport management). Hardly any other university in Germany can offer a similarly comprehensive and integrative curriculum in Tourism and Travel Management.

The topic of digitalisation is also increasingly a topic at the Department of Travel/Tourism Management. This is also shown by our cooperation with the VIR.
