Course profile

International Tourism Management (B.A.)

Tourism/Travel Management

The eight semester Bachelor's programme "International Tourism Management" leads to a first professionally qualifying academic degree. The programme was based on the curriculum of the six semesters Bachelor's programme "Tourism and Travel Management", and complements this with two semesters abroad. A comparison to the six-semester version you can find here.

The course is designed to teach the fundamental relationships of Tourism/Transport Management, introduce students to subject-specific business management work and prepare them for hands-on, job-related training or a consecutive Master's degree. An essential characteristic is its international focus.

Students study abroad at one of our five cooperating partner universities. Graduates of the programme will be especially qualified to apply their acquired knowledge and methods domestically and abroad in an intercultural context.

International and intercultural curricula

The degree programme aspires to reflect the inherently international environment of the tourism industry and address issues from this context. Business administration, foreign language and intercultural curricula are given a high priority in the programme. This also helps prepare students for their year abroad, which is an essential part of the programme. The social and intercultural skills acquired during their stay abroad especially qualify graduates for a job in an international environment.

Foreign language skills

Measured in CP, at least 14% of the curriculum at Hochschule Worms are taught in a foreign language. Add to this are the modules that are attended abroad and account for 25% of the entire programme. The foreign languages English as well as Spanish or French are also part of the course of study.

Among the elective subjects, you can choose between Russian, Mandarin or Arabic (from Level II). Selected lectures of the general business administration, special business administration and complementary scientific subject areas are also taught in a foreign language (English).
