Exchange Students from Partner Universities
Do you study at one of our partner universities? Then you can come to Hochschule Worms as an exchange student.
We also offer double-degree programmes with some partners. If you participate in a double-degree programme, you also count as an exchange student.
Tuition Fees and Nomination
During your stay in Worms, you usually pay your tuition fees at your home university.
Before you can apply, your home university must nominate you. Please contact your International Office for more information about this process.
Free Movers
Unfortunately, we cannot accept "free movers" due to limited capacity.

HOW TO APPLY
Step 1: Nomination
Your home university must nominate you for the exchange first. Please ask your International Office about the exact process and requirements.
Nomination deadlines:
- for the winter semester: April 15
- for the summer semester: October 15
Step 2: Application
After your nomination, you will receive a link to our online application portal "MoveOn". We only process complete applications submitted on time via this portal.
Please register in MoveOn first. Remember your login details, as you will need them again later. You can save your application at any time and continue working on it later, as long as you have not submitted it yet.
Please upload these documents:
- current academic transcript (showing all previous courses and ECTS)
- CV/Résumé
- identity document (ID card or passport)
- biometric photo for your student ID card (maximum 6 months old, white background, face and both ears visible, no selfies or black-and-white photos)
- language certificates (see portal for details):
- Bachelor: English B1 and/or German B2 (CEFR)
- Master: English B2 and/or German B2 (CEFR)
- for Master students: Bachelor's degree certificate
You can only submit the application once you have filled out all sections. After submission, you cannot change your data. If you need to change something later (for example, your address), please send us an e-mail incoming@hs-worms.de.
Step 3: Signatures
When you submit the application in MoveOn, the system generates a PDF document. Please sign this document. The coordinator at your home university must also sign the PDF.
Send us the signed document by e-mail before the deadline expires. We cannot accept you without this document.
During the application process, you will also receive information about our Accommodation Service. Since we only have a limited number of rooms, we assign them on a first-come, first-served basis.
Step 4: Confirmation
Have you submitted your application completely and on time? If everything is correct, we will send the official letter of acceptance to you and your home university by e-mail.
Step 5: Visa (if applicable)
Students from non-EU countries receive an information letter from us for a long-term visa. You can submit this to the German embassy or consulate in your home country. This saves you additional costs at the foreign registration office in Worms later on.
Please read the rules for visas and residence permits carefully. We recommend these websites:
- Visa navigator
- Study in Germany
- DAAD
- Visa and residence permit for exchange students [bitte prüfen: Link hinterlegen] VISA SEITE VERLINKEN!!!
Start your visa application as early as possible. The process can take several months.
Step 6: Enrolment
We need these documents for your official enrolment:
- confirmation of your health insurance (the so-called "Meldung 10" from a German statutory health insurance)
- receipt of payment for the semester contribution (no tuition fees)
- your address in Germany during the semester
Please submit the documents by January 15 (for the summer semester) or by July 15 (for the winter semester). We cannot enrol you without these documents.
Step 7: Courses and Orientation
After your enrolment, we will inform you about the available courses for exchange students. You will then also receive the schedule for the mandatory orientation weeks and all other important information for your stay.
