The Alumni-Club Worms e.V. is Worms University of Applied Sciences’ cross-disciplinary and cross-institutional network. It brings together students, alumni and experts, and creates opportunities for exchange, networking and professional development. Through events, its mentoring programme and funding projects, the ACW supports students and the university.
History of the ACW
Predecessor organisations
Alumni work has been a long-standing tradition at Worms University of Applied Sciences. As early as 2000, the alumni association “Alumni EBM/Handel e.V.” was founded by graduates of what is now the International Management/Business Management degree programme. This was followed in 2002 by the founding of the “Alumni-Club Touristik e.V.” by the Faculty of Tourism and Transport.
Merger
Later, the associations sought to centralise alumni work more effectively and to offer a joint package of services and events for all former students of Worms University of Applied Sciences. Consequently, in 2015, the two alumni associations merged to form the current “Alumni-Club Worms e.V.” (ACW).
Cooperation
The student-run “Verein Alumni-IBA (VFA) e.V.” decided, due to its specific organisational structure, not to merge with the other two associations, but joined the ACW as an institutional member in 2017. This enables programmes and events to be developed and promoted jointly.
All under one roof
This means that the aim of bringing alumni management together under one roof is now also reflected in the organisation’s structure. Thanks to the close, cross-departmental collaboration between all stakeholders in the alumni context, the range of services and benefits for graduates is constantly being expanded.
