Whether it’s a symposium, workshop or lecture: on this page you will find the latest research-related events – including both those organised by Worms University of Applied Sciences itself and external events at which our researchers contribute their expertise.
2nd State-wide Research Day at the Rhineland-Palatinate University of Applied Sciences
On 22 October 2026, our university will host the second state-wide Research Day for Rhineland-Palatinate’s universities of applied sciences. Under the slogan ‘The Future is Science and Innovation in Rhineland-Palatinate’, we once again aim to promote academic exchange and networking.
The aim of this joint event is to bring together members of universities in Rhineland-Palatinate who are interested in or actively engaged in research, in order to highlight the diversity and excellence of research activities. This year – in keeping with the motto ‘Learning – Research – Impact’ – the focus is on early-career researchers. The programme covers the entire spectrum of applied research: from initial student projects and doctoral research to successful transfer and career pathways.
The programme includes, amongst other things, parallel sessions featuring academic presentations by PhD candidates alongside their supervising HAW professors on various topics, as well as a pitch session for student research projects. In addition, a panel discussion will highlight different career paths following a HAW PhD.
Take this opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions with researchers from universities in Rhineland-Palatinate and register now.
Worms University of Applied Sciences is well represented at this year’s Research Day: it will present its research profile as part of the ‘Kaleidoscope of Research and Transfer Activities’; in the parallel sessions, four PhD candidates, together with their supervisors, will present their doctoral projects in the fields of computer science and economics; and in the concluding panel discussion, a former doctoral candidate from the university will talk about his career path following his HAW PhD.
