SciPort RLP raises the profile of research carried out at universities in Rhineland-Palatinate – with minimal effort required on the part of the researchers. Anyone who maintains their publications, projects and patents on the platform can showcase their academic profile on a state-wide platform, making it easier for potential collaboration partners from academia and industry to find them. Conversely, it allows users to carry out targeted searches to find out who is working on related topics, which collaborations already exist and which publications are relevant to their own field of research.

At the same time, SciPort RLP reduces the workload in day-to-day research: publications can be imported from common databases such as Web of Science, are verified by the university library and are subsequently made available in a reliable format. There is no need for a separate research report, as the entries in SciPort RLP serve as a substitute. Use of the platform is free of charge for all researchers; its operation and further development are managed by the ZFT at Worms University of Applied Sciences.
