Worms University of Applied Sciences is committed to a discrimination-free working, teaching and learning environment in which all students and staff are treated with respect and on an equal footing. These values are also set out in other documents, such as the university’s mission statement. Worms University of Applied Sciences is also working on a diversity strategy.
The complaints office established under the General Equal Treatment Act is a central point of contact for anyone who has experienced discrimination on the grounds of the following grounds or who has witnessed such incidents:
Employees have the right to lodge a complaint (Section 13 of the AGG). An official complaint is preceded by a consultation, which takes place in confidence and does not necessarily have to lead to formal complaint proceedings.
If, in the event of discrimination, you do not wish to contact the complaints office under the General Equal Treatment Act, you are, of course, also free to speak to a trusted person of your choice. These may include colleagues, line managers, representatives of the staff council, the central or one of the regional equality officers, or the representatives for people with severe disabilities.
You can find an overview of all designated representatives here.
You can find a sample list of external support services on this page under ‘External advice centres’.
