The Diversity Office is available to all members of the university, as well as external parties, to provide information and advice.
Here you can obtain information and seek advice on specific issues. This includes, amongst other things:
The Diversity Office comprises the central Equal Opportunities Officer at Worms University of Applied Sciences, as well as a member of staff and support staff. The Worms Equal Opportunities Officer is involved in all personnel decisions, such as appointments, recruitment and promotions.
We are taking a stand for equality, breaking taboos and combating period poverty. As part of a new project, free period products are being made available in selected toilets on our campus. You can find these period-friendly toilets in the C, N and O buildings (see below for details).
Menstruation is a natural part of life. Yet all too often it is stigmatised and treated as a taboo. We want to break down these barriers and create a space where all members of the university community can feel free and confident. At the same time, we are fighting against period poverty. Access to period products should never depend on financial worries.
Together, we can promote equality, break down taboos and combat period poverty.
The project is led by the student unions AStA and Stupa. It is supported by the Vorderpfalz Student Services Organisation, the Central Student Advisory Service and the Diversity Office.
You can find our leaflet here.
You can find the campus map showing the locations of the period-friendly toilets here.

27 February – Equal Pay Day
Equal Pay Day symbolically marks the gender pay gap, which, according to the Federal Statistical Office, currently stands at 18 per cent in Germany. Assuming that men and women were paid the same hourly wage, Equal Pay Day represents the date up to which women work for free, whilst men have been paid for their work since 1 January.
On average, women in Germany earn 16 per cent less than men (gender pay gap). Part of this gap can be attributed to structural differences. Even when these are factored out, an unexplained pay gap of six per cent remains.
