Sustainability at Worms University of Applied Sciences

Together, we are shaping a sustainable university.
We develop ideas, implement projects and, step by step, embed sustainability into our studies, teaching, research and everyday university life.

Worms University of Applied Sciences is actively committed to sustainable development. Together with students, lecturers and staff, we develop ideas and implement projects to promote greater sustainability.

The foundation was laid by a working group set up in March 2022 by dedicated mid-level academic staff. Students and lecturers soon joined in too. Together, they launched numerous projects and initiatives.

Since 2024, sustainability work has been firmly embedded within the university’s structures. A core team coordinates the activities and continuously develops them further.

The core team is led by Ms Hoppe-Dörwald, the university’s sustainability officer, and Prof. Jan Drengner, the Senate’s sustainability officer.
