As part of its statutory remit, Worms University of Applied Sciences is responsible for organising research, teaching and the promotion of early-career researchers. It is therefore of great importance to us to foster creativity, critical thinking and a commitment to excellence in academia, and to take appropriate measures to address research misconduct and prevent it from occurring.
To define the standards of academic work and establish procedures for dealing with misconduct, Worms University of Applied Sciences has adopted the ‘Guidelines for Ensuring Good Academic Practice’, based on the recommendations of the German Rectors’ Conference, the German Science Council and the German Research Foundation (DFG).
Reports of research misconduct may be brought to the attention of the confidential adviser. It is the responsibility of the Commission for Ensuring Good Research Practice to investigate suspected cases.
Anyone – whether a student, a member of the teaching staff or a researcher – who has questions regarding good scientific practice, security-related research or issues of scientific ethics, and who wishes to contact an external body, may contact the following supra-regional body free of charge: ombudsman-fuer-die-wissenschaft.de.
