Key details about the degree programme
Here you will find all the information about the MBA programme in Business Travel Management, presented in a concise and clear format. Find out everything you need to know about the application and admissions process.
To ensure your application is successful, you will need:
- Your certificate of your first professional higher education qualification worth 210 ECTS.
- You may make up for any missing ECTS credits, up to a maximum of 30 ECTS, by providing appropriate evidence, for example through professional development.
- Proof of at least one year’s work experience relevant to your studies. Your professional activities must relate to tourism and transport. You should have acquired knowledge and skills that are useful for the degree programme.
An MBA programme is usually built upon a first university degree, such as a Bachelor’s, Diplom or Magister. You may also apply without a first university degree if you are particularly well-qualified. In this case, you must demonstrate your suitability in another way:
- Your certificate of general university entrance qualification or technical college entrance qualification, a completed vocational training programme with a recognised qualification, a master craftsman’s examination or a comparable examination.
- Proof of at least three years’ work experience relevant to the course. Your professional activities must relate to tourism and transport. The necessary forms are available on request from Ms Orth-Reich (orth-reich@hs-worms.de).
- A passed aptitude test. In this test, we assess whether the skills you have acquired outside the university correspond to those required for the Bachelor’s degree programme in Tourism and Travel Management (B.A.). The exact regulations can be found in Appendix 1 of the subject-specific examination regulations. You can obtain the forms on request from Ms Orth-Reich (orth-reich@hs-worms.de). The programme director will conduct the aptitude test once you have submitted your application documents and the required supporting documents.
The Faculty of Tourism and Transport at Worms University of Applied Sciences allocates places directly. You should submit your application documents electronically via the Worms University of Applied Sciences portal.
Application deadline for the summer term: 15 January
We look forward to receiving your application!
The programme is aimed at business professionals from the business travel industry and related sectors. For this reason, you will study whilst working. Each semester, you will attend eleven days of face-to-face teaching, including three Saturdays. You will also complete e-learning modules and take part in online classes.
The MBA programme is recognised in Rhineland-Palatinate as a course under the Educational Leave Act. Worms University of Applied Sciences will issue you with a certificate to this effect.
In almost all federal states, you are entitled to time off work for your further education. Your employer will continue to pay your salary during this period (educational leave, also known as ‘Bildungsurlaub’ in some federal states). If you work a five-day week, you are entitled to ten working days within two consecutive calendar years.
We recommend that you agree the educational leave with your employer at an early stage.
The course costs a total of 19,200 euros for four semesters, plus the currently set student union fee per semester.
Reduced tuition fees for students starting in the summer semester of 2027:
- €7,450 instead of €19,200 for applications submitted by 15 January 2027
- Minimum number of participants: 10 students
Tuition fees can often be reduced for tax purposes by up to 30 per cent or more. Employers also frequently provide financial support for the programme. As a result, in many cases you will only have to pay a small contribution yourself.
