The 12-week model

The degree programmes in the International Business Administration (IBA) field of study are structured around a 12-week model:
you will first attend lectures at Worms University of Applied Sciences for approximately twelve weeks. This is followed by an examination period lasting around two weeks. What happens next depends on the type of programme you are following – the standard or dual programme.

Classic program
In the traditional full-time programme, this is followed by a second on-campus phase lasting around three weeks. During this time, you can focus specifically on individual modules and complete them.

Cooperative program
In the dual study programme, after your exams you move into a practical phase at your partner company for around twelve weeks.
This means you spend more time at the company. You work through the course content for the second on-campus phase whilst you are in the practical phase at the company.

IBA: The 12-week model. Why not? Study better.
IBA offers degree programmes based on an innovative 12-week model: one course per semester, delivered as a 3-week intensive block at the end, thereby shortening the main semester to 12 weeks whilst maintaining the same overall semester duration.
Benefit 1 of the 12-week model: Better learning. Innovative learning formats in block courses, easier learning when it comes to languages, intercultural studies or project management, and better long-term retention through intensive study.
Benefit 2 of the 12-week model: reduced workload. After 12 weeks, the term is over, leaving time to focus intensively on a particular topic.
Benefit 3 of the 12-week model: reduced exam pressure. One fewer exam during the main semester; the exam for the block course takes place in the week immediately following the course.
Benefit 4 of the 12-week model: networking whilst studying. Direct contact with dual-study students who work at the company and with company representatives.
Benefit 5 of the 12-week model: top international lecturers. High-calibre lecturers from abroad for block courses; leading universities both at home and abroad also make use of block courses.
