Social counselling
Below you will find useful information about social support services available on and off our campus.
At the start of each semester, the Equality Office, together with other advisory services, sets up a stand in the canteen at Worms University of Applied Sciences. At an information stand, students – particularly first-year students – are provided with important information on counselling and financial support options. Of course, the Worms University of Applied Sciences ‘Wheel of Fortune’ is a must: students can look forward to receiving the odd gift or two!
Together with staff from the Vorderpfalz Student Services Organisation, the religious communities ESG and KHG Worms, and the Central Student Advisory Service, the various departments present their services, which are also summarised here.
Difficult situations can arise from time to time in life. Below you will find a list of counselling services in the region:
- Caritas and the Diakonisches Werk offer free life counselling, addiction counselling and much more.
- The Evangelical Deanery of Worms-Wonnegau offers a psychological counselling service for marriage, family and life issues.
- Social counselling for children, teenagers, young adults and their parents is provided by Department 5.05 Youth Services of the City of Worms.
- Students can contact the Vorderpfalz Student Services Organisation for social counselling; there they will receive guidance and support in clarifying all personal and social issues and concerns.
You can find the Worms University of Applied Sciences’ representative body for people with severe disabilities – which serves both staff and students – here. You can find further important information about studying with a disability here.
Advice and, where applicable, financial support for those affected are also provided by foundations such as
The EUTB (Supplementary Independent Participation Advice) offers information for those seeking advice on all types of disabilities, crisis situations, impending disability and disability – including for relatives of those affected.
