The Students’ Parliament
Who we are & What we do
The Student Parliament, or StuPa for short, is the highest decision-making body of the student self-government. This applies to all higher education institutions in Rhineland-Palatinate.
The Higher Education Act establishes the StuPa as a permanent body of the constituted student body.
Our responsibilities are:
- Election of the AStA: The StuPa elects and oversees the General Students’ Committee (AStA), which manages the day-to-day affairs of the student representation.
- Budget & finances: It adopts the student body’s budget and decides how funds are to be allocated
- Constitution & Guidelines: The Parliament adopts and amends the constitution of the student body
- Representation of interests: The StuPa is the official voice of the students in dealings with the university
