Transfer strategy
Our university as a driving force for regional change
Worms University of Applied Sciences takes responsibility for shaping a sustainable society and sees itself not only as a centre for education and research, but also as an active catalyst for social and economic change in the region. Through the close integration of academic expertise and practical application, insights from research and teaching are translated into concrete solutions. At the same time, input from business and society enriches our research, ensuring it remains practice-oriented and forward-looking.
A boon for the city and the region
As a key player, the university strengthens the positive development of the city and the region. Through knowledge transfer initiatives, partnerships and innovation projects, we promote the competitiveness of local businesses, support social participation and enhance the region’s appeal as a centre for education, research and innovation. Our autonomy enables us to respond flexibly to regional needs and to deploy our strengths in a targeted manner.
Knowledge transfer as a two-way process
Our knowledge transfer strategy views exchange as a two-way process between the university and the professional world:
Inside-Out: Through partnerships, knowledge transfer and practice-oriented projects, we develop innovative solutions, strengthen the regional economy and raise the university’s profile as a reliable partner for the future.
Outside-In: Input from business and society feeds back into research and teaching. This close link to practice ensures practical applicability, keeps our work up to date and enhances the university’s competitiveness.
Shaping
the future together The university plays an active role in shaping regional development. Its autonomy enables flexible, innovative and effective action. Through our commitment to knowledge transfer and cooperation, we make a significant contribution to the future viability of the city and region and raise the profile of our university.
Through close collaboration between academia, business and public institutions, we promote sustainable innovation. We support start-ups with advice, networks and resources, and provide companies with access to the latest scientific findings. International partnerships strengthen cross-border economic opportunities, social responsibility and regional sustainability.
As enablers, we create efficient structures, facilitate valuable contacts and raise the university’s profile – for Faculties, teaching staff and the entire region. Our network connects students and businesses, provides practical experience and channels talent specifically into the business sector.
We generate knowledge, funding and impetus, foster a ‘passion for start-ups’ and a ‘passion for innovation’, build up pools of expertise and speakers, and strengthen the Worms University of Applied Sciences brand. Our thinking is networked; our approach is holistic. Our transfer strategy is guided by the cornerstones of the Rhineland-Palatinate Innovation Strategy 2021–2027. In this way, we make a targeted contribution to the implementation of the state’s innovation objectives and strengthen our role as a regional driving force.
