The Centre for Digitalisation (ZfD) is an academic institution and the central point of contact for digital transformation at the university. Its aim is to integrate digital technologies effectively into teaching, research and administration in order to prepare the university for the future.

Current projects
Digitisation of process management in higher education administration
The ‘Digitisation of Case Processing’ project aims to make administrative processes more efficient, transparent and paperless. By using modern tools and digital workflows, the aim is to process cases more quickly, reduce errors and improve the quality of service for students and staff.

Qualified electronic signature in accordance with the eIDAS Regulation (EU) No 910/2014
This project implements qualified electronic signatures, which enable legally valid digital signatures. The aim is to make documents and processes at the university digital, secure and efficient, whilst complying with the European eIDAS requirements.

Introduction of an AI-based chatbot for the Faculty of Computer Science
The chatbot answers frequently asked questions about studying computer science at Worms University of Applied Sciences and is currently available for testing in a beta version. Whether it’s a dissertation, a research project or a student placement – with us, you can put your knowledge into practice and bring new ideas to the university.
The Centre for Digitalisation offers exciting opportunities for final-year projects in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital innovation. Students interested in topics such as machine learning, chatbots, automation or digital teaching formats can write their Bachelor’s or Master’s thesis in collaboration with the Centre.
