Your Future in Global Trade Management

The Master’s programme in Global Trade Management – classic (M.A.) offers an in-depth study of business administration with a focus on international and foreign trade. In this programme, taught in English, you will explore global economic relations, international markets and business processes, as well as strategies for the internationalisation of companies. In doing so, you will expand your knowledge and skills to analyse, design and further develop international business activities.

Practical projects, workshops and engagement with internationally active companies combine academically grounded content with real-world business challenges. You will examine current developments in global trade and apply your knowledge to international business and corporate contexts. International compulsory-elective modules allow you to choose your own area of specialisation and tailor your studies to your interests.

The programme’s international focus is also reflected in English as the language of instruction and the international composition of the student body. Interaction with students from different countries and with diverse academic and cultural backgrounds broadens your perspective on global economic relations.

A Master of Arts degree opens up a wide range of career prospects – for example, in international management, foreign trade and global commerce, as well as in consultancy and other internationally oriented areas of business.

Our Students’ Experiences

A Diverse and Engaging Learning Experience

Melisa, 6 November 2025 – Global Trade Management (MA)
Unfortunately, the Global Trade Management programme is no longer offered in this form. However, based on what I have seen and learnt so far, I can say that this programme, particularly with the Business Foreign Languages module, provides students with excellent opportunities for a secure career path. Overall, the modules in the first semesters are relatively broad in scope, which makes for a comfortable introduction to university studies, especially for first-year students.

The Global Trade Management programme has helped me to better understand international trade relationships and develop an in-depth understanding of global economic processes. Right from the start of the programme, it became clear just how interconnected the global economy is and how important a sound knowledge of trade agreements, customs regulations, supply chains and international market mechanisms has become in today’s working world.

Learning Is Fun

Jasmin, 25 December 2024 – Global Trade Management (MA)
Subjects such as business administration, finance and corporate management sparked my interest to an extent I hadn’t anticipated. Learning, which I initially thought would be challenging, became an activity I genuinely enjoyed. Rather than seeing it as a chore, I was often keen to learn and could hardly wait to make new connections and deepen my knowledge. This experience showed me how important it is to embrace new challenges, even when they may seem daunting at first.
