Kerstin Henzel studied law at the Universities of Würzburg and Heidelberg, successfully completing her studies with the second state law examination. 
After many years practising as a solicitor, she joined Worms University of Applied Sciences in 2011. Her career there took her through various roles in administration – from the BAföG office to the Human Resources and Organisation department, which she later headed, and finally to the position of Deputy Registrar.

Kerstin Henzel has been Chancellor of Worms University of Applied Sciences since 2022.
