Document Management System (d.3ecm)
What do I need this for?
Worms University of Applied Sciences uses the Enterprise Content Management System (ECMS) d.3ecm as its document management system. This was introduced as part of a joint project involving the seven universities of applied sciences in the state of Rhineland-Palatinate and the Centre for Distance Learning at Universities (zfh) – a research institution of the states of Rhineland-Palatinate, Hesse and Saarland – with support from the Centre for Higher Education IT in Rhineland-Palatinate (ZIT-RLP). The DMS offers the following advantages:
- Location-independent access and constant availability via a web client for authorised user groups,
- Indexing via keywords, metadata, full-text search and faceting,
- Version control,
- workflow functionality to involve multiple stakeholders,
- optional integration into specialist systems,
- legally compliant archiving.
Information on the DMS joint project can be found on the ZIT website.
