The Day of Action for a Safe and Sustainable Campus
On Clean Up Your Campus Day, students, staff and lecturers join forces: we clear our campus of fallen leaves – particularly on paths, stairs and open spaces – thereby making it safer in autumn.
But it’s about more than just cleanliness: taking action together strengthens our sense of community and shows that sustainability starts in everyday life. Whilst tidying up, we strike up conversations, get to know each other better and take responsibility for our surroundings.
We deliberately leave biodiverse areas covered in leaves to provide shelter and habitat for animals, thereby promoting biodiversity on campus.
Why do we do this?
To make the campus safer and better maintained.
To raise awareness of sustainability and collective action.
To foster a sense of community between students and staff.
