In general, we recommend that all new students arrive in week 12.If you are facing delays due to embassies or other public authorities, please read below about your options for late arrivals.
Option 1: Arriving during the first weeks of the semester
If you are unable to attend classes from the very first week, you may use the course materials provided on the online learning platform Moodle for self-study. In addition, you are encouraged to contact your fellow students for support in order to catch up on missed content.
The latest possible date for each course to join will be announced during the online information session on 19 March. Please note that some courses may require regular attendance from the very beginning. If participation in certain courses is no longer possible after your arrival, you will take them in the following semester.
As already mentioned above, please be aware that all classes are held on campus. A hybrid format is not available.Option 2: No attendance in summer term 2026
If you are unfortunately envisaging a situation where your presence / regular attendance in summer term 2026 will not be possible, we recommend postponing the start of your studies to winter term 2026-27. In this case, no specific action is generally required on your part other than maintaining your enrolment in order to retain your student status at our university. This is ensured by paying the semester fee for the following semester within the specified deadline.
Please note that your current admission letter remains valid from summer term 2026 onward and does not need to be reissued for subsequent semesters. Accordingly, a formal deferment of admission is neither possible nor necessary. As soon as you know your arrival date, please inform us.
