Aims

The Master's degree course in Business Informatics at Worms University of Applied Sciences qualifies students for professional fields in which the management of digitalization is the main focus. It serves to expand and deepen skills in the areas of "Information and Knowledge Management" and "Information Systems and Digitization" on the basis of a Bachelor's degree. Students are also given the opportunity to develop important skills in the areas of personnel management and project management.

 

Content

The "Leadership" and "Software Project Management" modules teach important skills for managing employees and project teams. These skills are a prerequisite for managing the digitalization of operational processes. In the subject area "Information and Knowledge Management", the modules "Information Management" and "Digital Innovation Management" teach skills for developing concepts for the use of digital solutions. In the subject area "Information Systems and Digitalization", the modules "Business Intelligence" and "Process Management" develop skills that are particularly necessary for the implementation of digitalization projects.

By choosing a specialization, students can qualify themselves individually for specific areas of the company. You can choose from the following qualification specializations:

  • Business Information Technology
  • Digital Business Management
  • Finance and Controlling

The Master's project involves working on a small task from professional practice, the degree of difficulty of which should correspond to the later professional practice of a Master of Science. It can be a preliminary project to the Master's thesis. The Master's thesis is usually carried out at and in cooperation with a company outside the university.

 

Structure

The Master's degree program in Information Systems offers an optional international orientation, which includes English-language courses comprising up to one fifth of the curriculum. Students also have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad. The semester abroad supervised by Worms University of Applied Sciences usually takes place within the framework of bilateral cooperation agreements between Worms University of Applied Sciences and foreign partner universities.

A degree course in Business Informatics at Worms University of Applied Sciences is strongly practice-oriented and always combines the teaching of theoretical subjects with their practical implementation in the form of marketable products from well-known manufacturers. There are a number of usage and cooperation agreements with leading software providers. In addition, the university has been operating its own SAP systems since 1990 and is also connected to the SAP University Competence Center.

Structure of the degree program according to FPO 2024

Students with a Bachelor's degree of 210LP can apply to shorten the duration of their studies to 3 semesters. If the duration of studies is shortened, the 3rd semester is omitted.
