Background Information on the National Licenses for Electronic Media
Since 2004, the German Research Foundation (Eigenname: Deutsche Forschungsgesellschaft) (DFG) funds the acquisition of national licenses in order to sustainably improve the supply of electronic specialist information at German universities, research institutions and academic libraries. The National licenses project integrates digital media into the nationwide literature provision program as part of the special collection plan of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft DFG.
The goal is to provide researchers, students and private persons interested in science with free access to databases, digital text collections and electronic journals. (Source: www.nationallizenzen.de)
