DAAD Scholarships for exceptional engagement

In 2026, the International Center will award DAAD Scholarships for particularly committed students in an international context, funded by the Federal Foreign Ministry of Germany. The scholarship is funded by the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst e.V.) under the Stipendien- & Beutreuungsprogramm (STIBET).

The scholarship consists of a one-time payment of 500 € (five hundred euros).

Applications are open approx. in April for the summer semester (tba via email).

Applicants

  • International students (foreign students) without German citizenship and without a German high school diploma ("Bildungsausländer:innen").

  • Enrolled in a regular degree program (bachelor's or master's) at HS Worms.

  • Completed at least 2 semesters of study (2. Fachsemester; summer semester 2026 is the third semester) at HS Worms

  • PhD students can apply as well.

  • Exchange students are excluded.

  • Very good to good academic performance (average grade ≤ 2.5).

  • Commitment in an international/intercultural context.

  • Intercultural competence and good German language skills (min. A1).

  • Filled in application form (link tba via email to all students)

  • Short (max. 1 page) letter of motivation (with description of your engagement)

  • Short (!) curriculum vitae

  • Current certificate of enrollment

  • Current transcript of records

  • Proof of involvement (e.g. certificates, confirmations, reference letters etc. ) - please note that your commitment must be no older than one year.

  • Proof of German language skills

  • Copy of passport and, if applicable, residence permit/visa

Incomplete applications will not be considered. After submission, we do not request missing documents from you.

Examples of engagement

Buddy program for international students, organization of excursions and cultural events, participation in university groups with an international focus, support in language and cultural mediation. Please note that the commitment has to be confirmed by an official organisation/institution or person of HS Worms etc. 

 

Note

It is not possible to receive parallel funding from several DAAD scholarships.
Under certain circumstances, you may be able to combine a STIBET scholarship with other scholarships, provided that the conditions of the respective funding bodies allow it.
