    Creating an effective CV and cover letter is crucial to the success of your job or internship search, both during and after your studies. This workshops ensures you become familiar with the standards expected here in Germany.

    Time schedule:

    The workshop is divided into two units that can be booked separately. This means that it is possible to participate only in one thematic focus or to participate in both units.

    Unit I: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm: General information on applications and CV

    • Contents of a complete application - What does complete mean?
    • Overview of current formal requirements - How does your application look professional?
    • Standards for e-mail and online applications - What are the special features?
    • Structure and content of a successful CV - What should you be aware of?

    Unit II: 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Cover letter

    • Structure and content of a convincing cover letter - How do you write a fitting cover letter and what should it contain?
    • DO's and DON'Ts of a cover letter - What mistakes should you avoid?

  • Jobs in Germany: The job interview

    Seminar contents:

    Being offered an interview is exciting but can be quite daunting. Therefore good preparation is essential. The seminar focusses on simulation of a typical interview and interview situations, discussion of the most important questions as well as voice and body language. We’ll also deal with cultural differences, from shaking hands to making eye contact.

    The workshop is divided into two units that can be booked separately. This means that it is possible to participate only in one thematic focus or to participate in both units.

    Unit I: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm: General information on the job interview

    • Phases of the job interview - how does the interview typically proceed?
    • Virtual job interviews - what are special aspects?
    • Preparing the content - what should you research before the interview?
    • Behaviour in the interview - how do you present yourself?
    • Dealing with classic and unexpected questions - How do you react?

    Unit II: 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm: Self presentation

    • Self-presentation - What should you pay attention to when presenting yourself?
    • Simulation exercises
